Luxe lovers, have you ever wondered what really makes a luxury brand so covetable?
Sure, their products are to die for.
But it's not just about slapping a hefty price tag on a pretty purse or posh pumps.
Luxury is a state of mind - brands craft experiences to elevate the client so she surrenders to the beauty of the moment.
Because these iconic brands embody high-end values and standards, they are able to transmute regular materials into aspirational objects.
This art form comes from meticulous attention to detail, a reverence for fine materials, and a dedication to impeccable service.
And they extend this dedicated commitment to excellence to every facet of the business.
But let's get real—without compelling stories, these would just be expensive stuff.
What gives luxury brands their mythical allure are the narratives woven into their essence.
When I recruit for luxury brands, I look for precisely the same qualities:
exquisite attention to detail,
compelling storytelling and,
a dash of modesty because most luxury brands existed before any of us were born!
Those rare gems who can embody the above are the people I covet the most.
And when these individuals get hired, they get to become part of the brand's mythology.
So, when I am asked by young talent what it takes to shine bright in the luxury industry, I always suggest starting with the following two minimum requirements:
Sharing your achievements impeccably (spare yourself endlessly perfecting your resume) and,
Speaking about your vision. It is more powerful than what any outfit can convey.
Doing this will already elevate you to the 1% of candidates.
Luxury is a competitive industry.
To thrive genuinely, embodying the essence of luxury within yourself is a must.
And yes, brands want to hire and will pay when they find those same standards of excellence and dedication in people.
