I love writing this newsletter but some weeks talking about coaching feels irrelevant..
And yet we didn't claw our way to the top of our game by giving in to chaos.
In fact, I believe that the faster and more furious things move around us, the greater we need to be able to find inner stillness.
Remember merry-go-rounds?
When you got dizzy, you either had to jump out or get right in the center.
It's a sentimental analogy, and yet getting out of confusion is as simple as that.
Finding our center requires minimal effort and no doing.
Here's a breath exercise I invite you to try as you read it.
Take a big inhale.
Exhale twice as long.
Repeat.
Locate your attention in your body.
Notice where it is.
Maybe it's your chest or your head.
Move it 2 inches below your belly button.
Take another few breaths from there.
Voila!
You just reconnected with your power center.
Now, if you want to become a Zen ninja, just rinse and repeat.
Every expert, MVP or artist knows the drill.
BTW, it may seem counterintuitive, but mastering pauses boosts success.
Nobody wins by arriving frantic to a game.
Stay centered and stealthy, my fellow ninjas!
